Soil Chemistry at ICOBTE in Nanjing, China
Three members of the Soil Chemistry group enjoyed fruitful engagement at the biannual conference for biogeochemistry of trace elements.
Ruben Kretzschmar, Iso Christl and Xu Fang just came back from the external page 15th International Conference on the Biogeochemistry of Trace Elements (ICOBTE) held in Nanjing, China. Ruben gave an invited plenary talk (photo) on the role of minerals in trace element speciation and cycling in the environment. Iso presented his research on the reactivity of biochar in collaboration with Prof. Worachart Wisawapipat from Bangkok, Thailand. Xu gave his first conference talk on our joint project with Prof. Fangjie Zhao from Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) on Cd and As in rice. The conference was highly relevant to our research and we had important project meetings after the conference with our partners at NAU.
